There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who REALLY like Star Wars and those who REALLY like Star Trek. I’ve heard rumor of a third group that enjoys both equally, but a man cannot serve two masters. Within those two groups are various subgroups of people. People who don’t read, people who read occasionally, people who read books that sell well (John Grisham, Twilight, Nicholas Sparks, Harry Potter type stuff), people who enjoy reading, and people who love books. This blog is for people who love books.
Book lovers are a world apart and we recognize our own. We read books about anything, for any reason, at any time. We spend hours in bookstores and sometimes leave empty handed. The smell of books is comforting and nothing is more lovely than a room full of books. Before I had a husband I would often sleep with books. Book lovers will know what I am referring to… at night, instead of reading a new book because you will certainly spend all night reading until morning, you have a few of your old favorites on your nightstand. You often fall asleep while reading to your favorite passages.
To book lovers, a book is not an object, it is a friend. I’ve left important pieces of clothing behind in order to have room for my books, and dragged heavy suitcases all over Europe and South America in leu of getting rid of some of my friends along the way. As a lover of books, I tend to read lots of them. For this reason I’ve started ireadlotsofbooks.com: a forum where I can give my opinions about the books I’m reading, share book news, and every once in a while see what the authors are saying about their work.
I am awe of all the books you have read, and by the very intelligent insights and perspectives you share. I would like to get in touch with you in regards to your opinions on the biggest differences you see between MG and YA books. Can you please email me? Thanks.
